The Live 8 concerts held on July 2, 2005 were a series of global events where-by musicians from all genres joined together to make a statement directly to the members of the G8. Their message was clear; They wanted the G8 to consider making positive choices abut debt relief in Africa.The Live 8 Germany concert was held in Berlin at the Siegessäule. The word Siegessäule is translated to mean Victory Column. The concert was held directly in from of this column and viewers of the concert could see the column rising above the stage in the background while they watched their favorite bands play.
