The Berlin-based DVD label Monitorpop specialises in unconventional artists and themes beyond the mainstream, a.o. a retrospective on Berlin’s early 80s underground scene Berlin Super 80 or cult films by NY director Amos Kollek.
This compilation assembles a range of talents who pursue their very own, often radical and inevitably, idiosyncratic paths. Among them: Viennese artist Hermann Nitsch, photographer Miron Zownir, musician Matthew Herbert, Mark Stewart, founder of the legendary punk-funk band THE POP GROUP and performance artist Leigh Bowery.
